The Myth About HellHell means many things to different people. For example, to many it is just a word to be used for swearing. Then there are those who like to use the word in a joke or a story; something to make fun of. Others use it as a description of the life they are now living and the situation they find themselves in. When it comes to hell, there are all sorts of ideas and the way the word is used. In this short pamphlet I would like to address a few myths about hell. Let’s hear what God’s Word, the Bible, has to say about this.
1. Hell does not exist – but according to God’s Word, it does; it is a very real place. Jesus Christ said, “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” {Matthew 10:28} “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.” {Revelation 1:18} “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;” {2 Peter 2} There are many more references in the Bible that prove there is a hell.
2. Hell has no fire – but according to God’s Word, it does.  Jesus Christ gave a warning for certain offenses when He said, “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire. {Matthew 18:9} The rich man who died and went to hell as told by Jesus Christ,  “And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.” {Luke 16:24}
3. Hell will be a place to party – but it will not because of the torment the lost souls will be enduring. Hell is a place of punishment for those who have rejected Jesus Christ as Saviour. Consider,. . . . .
