No Time for God“Busy, busy, busy! People everywhere are just so busy and they have no time for God. For the young person the attitude is, “Please, I am too young and, besides, I have my whole life to live. Perhaps later I will have time for God.” But the Bible says, “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth” (Ecclesiastes 12:1)

As the years pass by and college is entered, there is still no time for God. “Please, not now! I am so busy studying and working my way through college that I have no time for God. That will have to wait until afterwards.”

College graduation passes and the next phase of life begin; find a job and get established. “Can’t you see that I just got this job that is so time consuming and I have very little time for myself. I’m really sorry but there is just no time for God right now. Perhaps later on there will be.”

Along comes just the right mate; love is in the air and family life is begun. “Between my job and now the responsibility of my family that requires so much attention, there is no time for God left in my already crowded schedule.” The children are now grown; some have gotten married and are parents themselves.

“Time has gone by so fast! Why, it seemed like just yesterday I was a youth and look at me now, I’m a grandparent. Between my job, social responsibilities, and being a grandparent there is just no time for God anywhere. I promise though, once I get through all of this I will have time for Him and come to church.”

In the retirement years there is so much to do with other senior citizens from all walks of life. “I really did not know that senior citizens could be so busy, what with all of the socials, senior trips and all there is no time left for anything, especially no time for God.”

The twilight years have arrived; it seemed like just yesterday there was a youth inside this crumbling shell of a body. Wherever did the time go? It went by so fast! On the stage of life the curtain begins to be lowered; soon the play of life will be over and throughout it there was no time for God.” So many things to be done that were left undone, but there was always no time for God. Soon though there will be plenty of time as the portals of time are passed through and the land of eternity is entered. Here, there will always be plenty of time, time to remember every opportunity that was allowed to slip by, every opportunity to turn to God, every opportunity to lay up treasure in Heaven. But it will forever be too late because there was always no time for God.
